Corporate Four is taking action to build a stronger community
We don’t measure success simply by our bottom line. At Corporate Four, community involvement is also a key part of our mission as an organization and a Twin Cities institution. Through our company giving and our very generous employee volunteer efforts, we reach out to others any way we can. Here are a few examples of how we give back to the community:
Extreme Makeover Home Edition™
This national television show came to Minneapolis to build a home for a deserving family, and the construction company that volunteered to build the home was a client of ours. Our agents worked for months in complete secrecy to place the liability coverage for this huge undertaking. Per the signed contract with the show, if word got out to the media ahead of time, the TV show would pull out with no obligation on their part.
However, the contractor was obligated to build the home – even if the show never aired! It was imperative that no one in the agency allowed this to happen. Coverage was successfully placed without any media or unauthorized persons finding out.
Our agency also was a substantial corporate sponsor of this project, and many of our employees volunteered their time and pitched in. The employees didn’t even know what the project was when they signed up – they simply were offered the chance to work on a community project of unknown details, and they came through!
Habitat for Humanity
Our employees were recently given the opportunity to participate in a local Habitat for Humanity project sponsored by an insurance company. Corporate Four owners granted a paid day off to participate in this very worthwhile endeavor.
Community Charities
Every year during the holiday season, we choose a charity to work with – from Toys for Tots and Lutheran Social Services to Catholic Charities’ Sponsor-A-Family and more. Our owners personally give a generous gift to the charity we choose, even once purchasing a new bicycle for each child in a family we anonymously sponsored!
Feed My Starving Children
Corporate Four regularly puts together a team of volunteers to package meals for this incredible hunger-fighting organization. FMSC is near and dear to the heart of one of our owners, who witnessed the joy of those on the receiving end during a home-building mission trip to Haiti.
Employee Fundraisers
Employees may bring their family fundraising initiatives into the office break room. These may range from Walk for Cancer and food shelf drives to Teen Challenge, Girl Scout cookies and simple school fundraisers. Many of our staff members and associates hold positions in the community in a volunteer capacity.
Their personal commitment to volunteer on church boards, coach youth sports, distribute meals and adopt-a-highway, etc., outside our agency is yet another indicator of the ethical, caring people that make up Corporate Four.
